While I totally disagree with voting for the Speaker, officially or unofficially, until all new Reps are sworn in, that is the current process. I understand that Rep Sparks voted for Rep Patterson in that early election so it seems he is going back on his word. For some, this negatively impacts his credibility.

Going back on his word? The first election was in SEPTEMBER of 2023.

After that vote Patterson shut down any advancement of any 2 Amendment bill (Feb. 2024), Patterson refused to endorse Donald Trump alongside his peers (January of 2024), Patterson voted against IP Reform TWICE in 2024, and in October of 2024 Patterson made the promise that if Amendment 3 passed it would be the "LAW OF THE LAND". These are just among a few things Patterson did AFTER THE VOTE for Speaker. I don't know about you, but when someone so radically moves away from the party priorities THANK GOODNESS Justin Sparks took a stand. He decided to break from the call for UNITY and stand for what true Republicans should be advocating for. KEEPING HIS WORD when there were so many things that manifested AFTER the vote for Speaker is something every single Republican should be doing. When a man shows you his true colors you have the responsibility to move away from a radical like Patterson. It is shameful not more of our elected reps will not do the same.
