The reason Missouri cannot get any meaningful bill across the line other than that for the major corporate interests and other special interests that constantly betray Missourians is due to the fact too many imposters run as Republicans. Even with a super majority of Republicans why is there so much gridlock? Thank GOODNESS we have good Republicans like Eigle, Hoskins, Brattin, and Moon fighting for us.

This is ALL on Mary Elizabeth Coleman and Senate Leadership. They had the votes for the PQ. It could have ended today with a vote. She knew that and pulled it quickly when she realized it. SO wrong.

Can you just imagine the awful impact she would have as SOS.

Makes me sick to even think of such a corrupt soul in charge of our elections.

An article by Center Square contains excerpts from a publication from Missouri Law Review called Indirect Initiative and Unpopular Referendum in Missouri from Spring 2021 by Gunnar Johanson. It is a 22 page referendum on how hard it is to thwart the will the people. It says this: “Without needed protections and reform, the initiative and referenda processes of Missouri are at risk of abuse by a legislature who has failed to show restraint. Citizens continue to use their rightful power to direct initiative and popular referendum. Moving further than criticism or distaste, a number of Missouri officials are now questioning the entire initiative petition process. I call it legislative neglect. Missourians have interest in certain policies. Instead of addressing those, the legislature neglects them and proceeds with their own extremist beliefs and platform. The citizens are left with these tools in the constitution.”

The document can be found here: https://scholarship.law.missouri.edu/do/search/?q=Indirect%20Initiative&start=0&context=4395422&facet=

The article also includes this "Simple majority rule is common sense and already the law of the land in Missouri,” Marilyn McLeod, president of the League of Women Voters of Missouri, said in a statement regarding Coleman's resolution. “One person, one vote.” It also noted how Republican Gov. John Ashcroft in 1992 vetoed a bill approved by a Democratic-majority legislature to limit the initiative petition process. “It is through the initiative process that those who have no influence with elective representatives may take their cause directly to the people,” Ashcroft wrote in his veto letter.

[It appears to be normal – people have no influence with elective representative but the radical Dems and their non-profits/NGOs have all of the resources to get their way. The blue cities in MO will find enough votes one way or the other to maintain the status quo on ballot initiative voting results - tyranny of the majority.

I just received a reply to my email from Senator Coleman:

"The Initiative Petition Reform bill (SJR 74) was on the Senate floor this week for a record breaking 51 hour filibuster.

I made a motion for it to go to conference with a special committee comprised of members of the Missouri Senate and Missouri House of Representatives to keep fighting for the bill.

As you may have seen on the news, this legislation has gathered a lot of attention.

Protecting the constitution, 2nd Amendment and life is paramount.

I will not waiver.

It is my honor and privilege to serve as your Senator.

Thank you for your prayers and support as we continue to fight for this critical legislation for Missouri."

SHE IS A LIAR.

The bill was about to be taken to a vote by the PQ which Senator Ben Brown had enough votes to do. The moment she heard he was going to move this bill to a vote she abruptly pulled the bill. Why did she not do that Monday? Why had they not been working on that before the two days before the end of the session. If you listen to early podcasts about the true conservatives early in the session who were all punished for filibustering for this bill, you will see we predicted this exact action fully weeks ago.

She has played games with the lives of the unborn. Too bad for her we have been tracking this bill for weeks and watching her every move. There is no place to hide for her and no lie big enough to cover up what she has done.

Okay, I really appreciate the clarification. She won't be getting my vote for any office she decides to run for, and I hope that other MO voters in counties that have RINOs vote them out if they can also. This is just horrible. :(
