The doors locked to the Springfield Expo center at 9:00 am sharp. If you were not in the building by that time the doors locked and you could not get inside.

REMEMBER WHEN FLOOR LEADER PATTERSON SEATED A COMMITTEE TO MAKE A RECOMMENDATION FOR THE HEAD OF THE HRCC? AND THEN PATTERSON SEATED THE HEAD OF THE HRCC WITH SOMEONE THE COMMITTEE HAD NEVER MET OR INTERVIEWED. Sophia Shore’s speech to the body asking for their vote as the Chairman of the Convention.
TWO OF MISSOURI’S FINEST GRASSROOTS FIGHTERS WON SEATS AS THE STATE ELECTORS.
The chairmanship was not voted on and decided until close to 2:00. The members of the caucus did not get to eat lunch until 2:00 which burned another hour. The convention officially started just short of 3:00 pm. The convention was stalled out from 9:00-3:00. Imagine that. The lunch lines were unbelievably long. Such poor preparation for this day by the leadership of the GOP in a room of approximately 1000 people. The establishment stalled the entire day and then Representative Ben Baker tried to force a “secret ballot” to elect the chairman of the convention. The grassroots were not having any of that. See video clip seen above. Why would anyone want a secret ballot? When the establishment counts the votes….and can determine outcomes with their counters…a secret ballot is in their favor. REMEMBER: In the Missouri House of Reps, for the first time ever, three years ago the elections for leadership were made by secret ballot by a machine. It has worked well for them…why not try it here?
It did not work out well for the establishment. Sophia Shore won by an overwhelming margin.
Ben Baker stood at the microphone for most of the day attempting to advance the agenda of the establishment. THIS is a HUGE part of the reason the day took so long. Again in this video Ben Baker is shown here pushing hard for a secret ballot.

Ben Baker here burning an inordinate amount of time again in an attempted “gotcha” moment. He failed. Madame Chairman hired a parliamentarian attorney who the RNC has contract with to run their national convention in Milwaukee.
Here Ben Baker again with his obstructionism on full display during the convention. It was the Ben Baker show all day long, burning the clock. ALL. DAY. LONG. He is here stating his case that the grassroots amendments to the platform had not been vetted carefully enough and he was speaking on the need to vote down the amendments brought by the people.
However, just minutes before he implored the members of the convention to accept the newly drafted amendments to the platform that had been brought by Nick Myers “committee”. For every minute Ben Baker burned we now know he was dragging the day out so the quorum would be lost and the amendments that meant so much to the people would be lost due to the loss of the quorum which is mandated by the rules.
EVERY AMENDMENT that was offered and debated was voted on and all were accepted by the hundreds of people still there in the building. Every person was given a voice. Every person had a say. Some abused that privilege that would never have been given to them had the establishment won the day.
Once the platform had been fully amended and was about to be voted on by the body for acceptance, Representative Dan Stacy yelled out “you don’t have a quorum”. The quorum count ensued and it was confirmed there was not quorum.
At that time, Ben Baker made a gesture in the air with his fist and he and Dan Stacy met in a victory hug, high-fived walking off arm and arm while laughing at what they had accomplished. Many people witnessed this display and were disgusted. Below a photo of a gleeful Representative Ben Baker on his way out of the building with Representative Dan Stacy. A concerned Missourian, among many others saw this exchange. She was so upset and disturbed by their actions sahe followed them taking photos of them as they exited the building.
Whose agenda did they carry out? How much in political contributions, or a job did they earn by working visibly against the good people of Missouri? Hope it was worth it.
Proof of Ben Baker’s intent to sabotage the convention can be found in a tweet the very next morning. (See Below). When congratulated on his quorum scheme, you will see his response below: (You will also notice how former speaker of the house, Tim Jones, liked his comment. More of the establishment swamp.) “JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE TRENCHES” according to Ben Baker. Wow. Such betrayal.

RATHER THAN ACKNOWLEDGE HER HUSBAND’S AGENDA TO SABOTAGE THE PEOPLE OF MISSOURI AND THE CONVENTION, SHE CALLS THE GOOD PEOPLE OF OUR GREAT STATE “ LIBERAL AND GUILTY OF MOB TACTICS”. OF COURSE SHE DID. OF COURSE.

Had the convention started on time, or even within an hour of the start time (10:00 am) the convention would have been done by no later than 3:00-4:00 pm using the same time frame that was used for the organization of the convention, voting on people, and voting on amendments with a full hour for lunch. It is unfortunate that the people of Missouri were found in the crosshairs of the games played.
It is very important that they saw with their own eyes how the games are played.
